Twitter Thread

Description

“Sometimes we need more than one Tweet to express ourselves. A thread on Twitter is a series of connected Tweets from one person. With a thread you can provide additional context, an update, or an extended point by connecting multiple Tweets together.”

Instructions


Students will be required to create a 10-tweet Twitter Thread (approximately 400-500 words) that addresses a contemporary or historical instance of anti-Black racism across the (can be local or global).

​

Within the Thread, students will have to explain (succinctly and for a general social media audience), how folks have challenged and/or are challenging that particular instance of anti-Black racism.

​

How To Submit Your Assignment


Students will be required to create a Twitter account and will submit their thread under the #BlackHistory130 hashtag and will tag @DrCSTaylor.

​

They will also post their links in the following LEARN Discussion Board: Twitter Thread Submissions. The Discussion Forum can be accessed from the Course Homepage by clicking Connect and then Discussions on the course navigation bar.

Submissions are due on Friday October 9th, 2020 by 11:30 PM 

​

General Guidelines for Submitting to a LEARN Dropbox

​

  • Ensure that the name of your file does not include special characters such as symbols or punctuation. Such characters may cause problems when uploading your file.

  • Unless otherwise instructed, please submit only ONE file per assignment (i.e., only 1 group member needs to submit the Webinar Video).

  • Do not zip your files.

  • Keep a copy of your assignment.

  • If your submission is successful, you will receive an Email Confirmation Receipt sent to your @uwaterloo.ca email address. If you do not receive an Email Confirmation Receipt, please double-check your submission and resubmit if necessary.

  • Keep all Email Confirmation Receipts until the course is over as proof of submission.
