Assignment #1

Introduce Yourself

Description

Welcome to Arts First (ARTS 130)! For your first assignment, we want to get to know you better and ask that you introduce yourself to the class through informal writing. This assignment provides the opportunity to share more about yourself with the goal of building strong relationships with your professor!

There is plenty of flexibility in this assignment and we encourage you to be yourself as it will help your professor gain a better understanding of who you are.

This assignment is due on Friday September 11 - 11:30 PM and represents 5% of your final grade.

Instructions

You are to submit a short write-up (min. half-page, max. one page, double-spaced, 12pt font, Arial) introducing yourself to your professor. Some examples of things that you can share about yourself (other than your academic profile) include, but are not limited to:

  • your favourite hobbies,

  • restaurants,

  • clothing brands,

  • your hometown,

  • interesting facts about yourself

Please do not limit yourself to just this list, (it is here to spark your own ideas) as the purpose of this exercise is to engage with your professor and share as much as you are comfortable with to genuinely develop stronger relationships.
